What we do
The CTP fulfils two main functions/aims:
Centre of Excellence
The CTP aims to be a centre of excellence providing a resource for transport planners and psychologists with links to research, and delivering evidence-based research, study and application in the field. We hold a database of peer reviewed research.
Bespoke project work
The CTP also undertakes bespoke work in the field of understanding and influencing travel behaviour. This can include:
- research to collect primary data using both quantitative and qualitative methods;
- literature reviews to aggregate evidence;
- evaluation and monitoring of projects;
- guidance and implementation of behaviour change interventions;
- staff seminars and workshops;
- a properly evaluated test of a new travel initiative.
We are always interested to discuss any different requests for assistance you may have. The expertise and experience of our various members is employed as required by each individual project, to create innovative solutions to transport problems based upon current thinking. Recent clients and projects include: TfL, TRL, and GCPH. For more details of our projects please see our PROJECT EXAMPLES.
Whether you are looking for information on people’s readiness to change, an accessible review of previous research, or a considered evaluation from experts in the field; the CTP has a wealth of experience in both research and application.
